5. Safeguarding Commitment
Safeguarding is central to everything we do. Beyond The Narrative is committed to creating safe, inclusive, and trauma-aware spaces for all participants, staff, and volunteers.
Principles – Do No Harm, Boundaries First, Empowerment & Choice, Equality & Inclusion.
Responsibilities – Facilitators uphold safe practice and escalate concerns. A Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) oversees compliance and reporting.
Delivery – Sessions include check-ins/check-outs, trigger warnings, right to pass, and clear signposting to support services.
Boundaries – No exchange of personal contact details, gifts, or unsupervised contact outside official channels.
Safeguarding concerns override confidentiality, and information is shared only on a “need-to-know” basis. All staff and facilitators complete mandatory safeguarding training.
